Consistency with programme strategy

The Project “Deliver preschool alternative services - „Early Childhood Care ” is being implemented in the framework of IPA program for cross-border cooperation Greece - FYR Macedonia for the period 2007-2013. This IPA program is financed by the European Union and co-financed by the member countries.

This project is directed towards strengthening of the economic development in the border region through investment in human capital from the early years and improving the experiences of small children in the early learnining. The project strongly demonstrate its cross border focus through several channels of cooperation: (a) joint development, (b) joint implementation, (c) joint staffing and (d) joint financing. The aim of this cross border project cooperation is to integrate areas divided by national borders that face common problems requiring common solutions.

Cross-border character of the project

One of the most important principles promoted by EU is cooperation. This project promotes partnerships between different fields/sectors at a cross border level. It is our belief that in finding ways to improve the preschool educational system it is wise to share various experience transfers so that the resulted approach would be more empirical. Moreover, the intercultural exchange is not only interesting and appealing but also raises the capacity of people in cross border region to adapt to the changing society.

One of the advantages of the experience transfers is that we can open our minds even more, that way we can raise the quality of preschool services by bringing new, innovative and attractive methods and approaches to this educational field.
